Now In-Network: Aetna, Horizon, Cigna, Carelon, and Quest Behavioral Health

We're excited to share that PTSD Rx is now in-network with five major insurance plans for patients in New Jersey:

  • Aetna

  • Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Cigna

  • Carelon Behavioral Health

  • Quest Behavioral Health

If you're a New Jersey resident with one of these plans, your visits at PTSD Rx are now covered — typically meaning you'll pay only your standard copay, often significantly less than our self-pay rate.

Why this matters

Specialized psychiatric care for PTSD shouldn't be locked behind a high cash-pay bill. We built PTSD Rx to remove the barriers that keep people from getting effective treatment for nightmares and flashbacks, and accepting insurance is one of the biggest barriers we can lower.

For many of our patients, the difference between a $150 follow-up out of pocket and a $25 copay is the difference between sticking with treatment and dropping out. We want everyone who can benefit from this care to be able to afford it.

What to do before your first visit

Insurance plans vary widely, even within the same company. Before scheduling, we recommend a 5-minute call to the member services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm:

  • That Dr. Martin Forsberg, MD is in-network with your specific plan

  • Your copay or coinsurance for an outpatient psychiatric visit

  • Whether you've met your deductible for the year

This small step prevents surprises and tells you exactly what you'll owe.

Don't see your insurance? Or live outside NJ?

We see patients in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. If you're in PA or NC, or your NJ plan isn't on the list above, you'll pay our self-pay rate at the time of service ($300 for the initial evaluation, $150 for follow-ups). We provide a superbill after each visit so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance.

We're also continuing to work on adding plans. If your insurance isn't currently in-network, the best thing you can do is call them and ask them to credentialing PTSD Rx — patient demand moves the needle on these decisions.
