We see patients from across the state. Newark, Jersey City, Princeton, Trenton, Cherry Hill, Edison, Paterson, Toms River, and everywhere in between. Visits are by secure video or phone. No driving to an office.
What we prescribe
Prazosin and doxazosin. Both are alpha-blockers that quiet the adrenaline response driving trauma nightmares and flashbacks. They're well-studied, supported by VA/DoD clinical guidelines, and the most effective tools available for re-experiencing symptoms.
That's the full list. We don't prescribe SSRIs, SNRIs, benzodiazepines, or sleep medications. If those are what you need, your PCP or a general psychiatrist is the right starting point. Many of our patients are on an SSRI from another prescriber and come to us specifically for prazosin or doxazosin to address the nightmares the SSRI didn't touch.

3. Book a 30-minute video or phone visit with Dr. Forsberg.
4. If we agree medication makes sense, the prescription goes to your local NJ pharmacy that day or the next.
You won't be asked to re-live your trauma. We only need to understand your symptoms.

We are an in-network provider with Headstrong, which covers all visits and medication management at no cost for qualifying veterans, active service members, and connected family members. Open to veterans of all eras.
Dr. Martin Forsberg, MD also writes nexus letters for veterans pursuing service-connected disability claims for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and related conditions. As a board-certified psychiatric practice, we provide opinions in the specialty the VA gives the most weight to for mental health claims.
